Initial Charging Instruction

Initial Charging instruction Initial Charging decides the life of the battery. Take utmost care to charge the battery initially strictly as per manufacturer's charging instructions.

1. Filling in Specific Gravity 1.220 + 0.005 at 270C
2. Rest Period 12 hrs.
3. Initial charging Current 5 amps to 7 amps for automotive batteries up to 10amps for
    stationery tubular batteries.
4. Conditions of fully charged
        a) 3 consecutive hourly readings of Specific Gravity and voltage become constant.
        b) Top of charging voltage will be around 15.5V - 16.2V
        c) All cell should gas freely

5. Specific Gravity at fully charged condition must be (recommended to be) 1.240 + 0.005 at
270C for stationary tubular batteries and 1.230 + 0.005 at 270C for automotive
    batteries.

Note:
Ensure that the temperature of the electrolyte during charging does not exceeds, 550C. if it exceeds, reduce the charging current or discontinue charging and resume charging when the temperature come down to 450C.

Normal Recharging Instruction
Charging at limit current up to 13.8V

Installation

1. Wooden or Rubber matting should be used for placing the battery.
